Dr. Ron J. Llewelyn![]() I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the State of Utah. For the past several years I have operated my private practice, Living Waters Counseling LLC and am currently in the process of bringing on additional therapists to help the many people who call each week. At Living Waters Counseling I strive to provide a caring, respectful, and even enjoyable environment for all who come in to see us. A little more about Ron Throughout my career, I have had the unparalleled privilege of working with, and helping several wonderful people; many of whom have been hurt by another person. This same privilege has helped me foster a deeper understanding regarding the nature of trauma, attachment, personality, dissociation and depression. These are my areas of interest and are at the core of my expertise. It has been a pleasure to work with some of the most esteemed clinical programs in the states of Utah and California, as well as serving as a Lead Faculty Area Chair for The University of Phoenix in their Professional Counseling Program. Furthermore, the opportunities to speak both locally and nationally on various topics such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Attachment has been a true blessing. I was also honored when Dr. Gary Lawson (a worldwide expert on Substance Abuse and Psychopharmacology) asked me to write a chapter for the second edition of his widely acclaimed book, Alcoholism and Substance Abuse in Diverse Populations. Over the years, with the insight and wisdom offered by my clients, I have developed a model of therapy for chronic forms of trauma. Feel free to visit the link for Developmental Reenactment Trauma Therapy above. By poking around this site, you may get the impression that I am a Christian; and you would be correct. Even though my office receives a number of referrals from local churches, most of my referrals are not church related. In fact, many of the people with whom I work, are not Christian; yet we get along extremely well. You see, I try to diligently adhere to the wisdom of love your neighbor as yourself. If you choose to work with me, you can expect to be treated with kindness and respect and hopefully, we can get some good laughs in along the way. I will not attempt to proselytize you into the faith. My goal is to help you get over the issues with which you are coming to address. Finally, it is and has been a true blessing to meet and help so many wonderful people. You are the definition of resilience. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life. God bless, Ron |
Dax Johnson ACMHC![]() I am an intern student enrolled at Grand Canyon University for the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I desire to help people reach their fullest potential in life in all aspects. Under the tutelage and guidance of Dr. Ron J. Llewelyn, I will strive to learn all that I can about providing the caring, respectful, and enjoyable environment that his practice has become well-known for. My courses have focused on the overall knowledge and understanding of professional counseling, the various tactics, and theories used by professionals, and the importance of relationship-building with clients as people. A little more about Dax Ever since I was a kid I had always wanted to grow up to be able to help other people. As I got older and experienced the world for myself, this want only grew stronger. I have met and heard the stories of countless people that have been hurt in life or felt lost in life. These people and relationships pushed me to seek out and pursue my education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling so that I learn how to better help people heal, and reach their potential. I am extremely excited to be working under Dr. Ron’s leadership as I know that there is much for me to learn and experience in the real world of therapeutic counseling. As you get to know me you might also get the impression that I hold Christian beliefs which is true. As Dr. Ron puts it best, I will try to diligently adhere to the wisdom of love your neighbor as yourself. If you choose to work with me during my internship process, you can expect that I will treat you with kindness and respect no matter what path of life you walk. I have no intention of using this office as a means of faith conversions. It is my desire, however, to help you overcome the struggles you want to address and change. I look forward to meeting you and I am so grateful that are you willing to be a part of my intern learning process as well. I hope that together, we can do great work in helping you live the life you want. Thank you. God bless, Dax |
